Deploy specialist AKS container protection

Designed to protect container-based applications, Redstor’s Azure Kubernetes Services protect the set of nodes, virtual or physical machines responsible for running containerized applications and workloads, that exist inside a Kubernetes cluster.

  • Do away with the delays of having to back up entire virtual machines
  • Eradicate the need to rebuild existing applications during restores
  • Avoid the manual burden of assembling and maintaining an unwieldy and time-consuming container-granular solution

Frequently asked questions

Kubernetes self-heals, so why does an organisation need any Azure backup?

Kubernetes is designed for application deployment and portability. It monitors the health of containers and will self-heal in the case of failures and outages. However, it’s a different story when it comes to accidental or malicious deletions of data. Ransomware, user mistakes, rogue behaviour and sync or configuration errors all threaten productivity and business continuity.

Unlike traditional, machine-based backups that were not designed for modern, container-based applications, Redstor provides a vital service in backing up not just the data, but application configurations too, so users can recover apps quickly without manually reconstructing all Kubernetes objects.

Built for cloud-native environments, Redstor offers the capability to inject data back into an existing cluster in the event of an issue and enables all the benefits of application mobility.

Avoiding data corruption when recovering modern apps that have multiple containers is only possible with app-consistent backups.

Users can add and remove and restore clusters in a:

  • Web service
  • Database
  • Application

Backups, with a 30-day retention period, are carried out daily by default but can be adjusted to be more or less frequent, depending on an organisation’s needs.
