Has Salesforce ever suffered from data loss or outages?

In May 2021, Salesforce experienced a major outage to its cloud service, with multiple services impacted, including the core CRM platform. 

Yes, but Salesforce’s native recovery solution comes with a whopping $10,000 fee – with no guarantees. Salesforce’s backup and retention policies also only protect customers from data loss up to a certain point.  

Salesforce will do an excellent job of ensuring your data is safe and available but can’t help recover it if an account is accidentally deleted, metadata is unintentionally modified, lousy code or integration issues impact tasks, events or contacts, a rogue employee deleted critical data so long ago that recovery is no longer possible.
