Redstor’s Empowering Initiatives for Mental Health Awareness Week!

Nicolle Huntingford posted in News | 24 May 2023

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we made a commitment to support the well-being of our employees in a laid-back and comfortable manner. We implemented several initiatives to positively impact mental health and create a mentally healthy workplace. Here’s a glimpse of what we accomplished:

We are proud to have trained 23 Mental Health First Aiders within our organization. These incredible individuals underwent specialized training, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to offer immediate assistance and guidance to colleagues facing mental health challenges. We strongly believe in creating a supportive network where no one has to face these struggles alone. Together, we are fostering a caring environment.

We encouraged our employees to join us for rejuvenating “zen sessions” during Mental Health Awareness Week. These sessions were designed to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and stress reduction. Our aim was to provide our team members with a dedicated space to unwind, practice mindfulness techniques, and find inner calm amidst their busy work schedules. We understand that taking care of our mental well-being is just as important as our job responsibilities.

In addition to the “zen sessions,” we treated everyone to a nourishing lunch. We recognize the profound connection between physical and mental health, and we wanted to ensure that our employees had a healthy meal that supports not only their bodies but also enhances mental clarity and energy levels. By prioritizing the well-being of the whole person, we strive to create an environment where everyone’s well-being is valued.

Throughout the week, our senior leaders actively participated in these initiatives and wholeheartedly promoted mental health awareness. By leading by example, they demonstrated that seeking help is not only encouraged but also valued within our organization. We want to emphasize that there is no shame in reaching out and that taking care of our mental well-being should be a priority for all.

Together, we are building a compassionate and mentally healthy workplace where everyone can thrive personally and professionally. Our commitment to empowering mental health continues beyond this week, as we strive to create an environment that fosters well-being year-round.
