Fri, 28/07/2017 - 05:29

Reading, 5th February, 2018 - Redstor, a leading cloud data management specialist, today announced the implementation of a third UK data centre facility. Redstor, who provide cloud services in the areas of Backup and Disaster Recovery guarantee UK data sovereignty for UK customers . The 40,000-server capacity facility increases Redstor’s ability to continue scaling storage platforms, while guaranteeing security levels.

Redstor are committed to ensuring high security standards and the new Tier 3+ data centre, which is within Everest Data Centres’ Reading facility, has state of the art security in place; including biometric and retina scanners and ANPR number plate recognition. Security standards held by the facility include ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, BPSS and BS7858. Power supplies are protected using 2N protection across the power distribution of the 5-hall facility.

Conveniently located within several miles of Redstor’s Reading Headquarters, UK DC3 will ensure that in a large scale disaster scenario, very large data volumes can be rapidly recovered, and customers can begin the process of getting back to operational capacity more quickly.

The addition of the third datacentre is driven by the requirement to handle growing data sets and to protect the data of enterprise organisations that Redstor work with. The datacentre will also add an additional layer of resiliency to the data protection processes of the organisation. “The implementation of another data centre facility in the UK shows that we are a growing organisation with great focus. We know we have the ability to manage and protect the data of thousands more organisations and this move gives us the extra data capacity to do so.” Comments Redstor CEO, Paul Evans.

2018 will see the General Data Protection Regulation put extra focus on data protection and management within all organisations. Compliance will drive organisations towards reputable vendors and solutions that can guarantee sovereignty. The opening of the third UK datacentre highlights the ambitions of the Reading based organisation, looking to grow its customer base and further its cloud offerings, with data being securely protected in UK datacentres in line with GDPR compliance.
