How about: Updates to data-protection regulations around the world place a range of new obligations on organisations to protect the rights of a data subject. This includes the ability to give individuals a full copy of their data on request and if necessary, to remove that data.
This is where Redstor comes in. Backups and archives created and stored with Redstor can be searched to make sure that every reference to a data subject is found. The erasure of relevant data is simple, monitor-able, and audit-able throughout the deletion process.
Global unstructured data search
Redstor enables customers to perform content searches on their unstructured data. This functionality allows customers to find data in a range of file formats, including Office, PDFs and a range of other text formats. Search is particularly powerful for identifying where personal identifiable information, such contact information, exists in unstructured data, helping organisations meet data protection obligations.
Simple intuitive search
Redstor Search is accessed via an intuitive web interface. The main page of the search portal has two tabs, namely search and deletion history. Search features a variety of parameters to narrow results. Users with appropriate permissions can download or delete files shown in results. The deleted history tab displays a list of successful, failed and pending delete sessions, sorted by date and time, along with information about them.
Files returned in search results can be accessed immediately using InstantData. If required, files can be deleted from backups and archives.
Unstructured data indexed for search can come from any server protected by Redstor and includes data protected from cloud apps such as Microsoft OneDrive. All search and deletion activity is fully audited for compliance purposes and includes the ability to add comments to explain actions that have been taken on the data.
