NSA email and data surveillance deemed illegal

A report which reveals the NSA has collected thousands of US communications and over 250 million internet communications in total per year since 2011, has been declassified. Civil liberties watchdog, EFF, has fought the  US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) for a year in order to publish the report. The document heavily criticises the Government’s misrepresentation of the NSA’s activities, and condemns their email and data programme as illegal. This follows from when Snowden first revealed the NSA's activities earlier this year. Leading to a decrease in confidence in the use of US cloud services due to breach of users privacy.
