Redstor Supporting Safer Internet Day, 2018

posted in Redstor ● 29 Jul 2015

Safer Internet Day, as run by the UK Safer Internet Centre, is an annual celebration of the ongoing effort to protect users, especially children, online. As a provider of internet based (cloud) services to schools, Redstor is supporting Safer Internet Day and taking the opportunity to help educate children and schools around safe internet use.

Globally, Safer Internet Day is celebrated in over a hundred countries, coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe.

The use of internet has grown vastly within schools, allowing access to new learning tools and intuitive classroom teaching and learning techniques. So as children grow up using the internet heavily in everyday life, it is vital to ensure they remain safe in doing so. Redstor celebrate Safer Internet Day by advising schools and partners on the best ways to stay safe online.

“As an organisation that works so closely with schools and learning authorities, we really see the benefits of teaching young people how to stay safe online. With my personal background in education, I think it’s great that Redstor does so much” comments former Assistant Head and current Redstor Education Adviser, Raj Panchal.
