Redstor in the community

posted in Redstor ● 24 Jun 2018

Redstor have a long standing tradition of supporting charities and the local community. It’s a characteristic born out of our close relationship with schools and the not-for-profit sector.

Each year, rather than sending Christmas cards to our valued customers and partners, we make a donation to a carefully chosen local charity. Last year, following much deliberation, we settled on The John Simons Trust at Rushall Farm. The trust used the money Redstor donated to subsidise 13 children from families on income support to spend a wonderful week in the countryside with them. The children enjoyed a range of creative outdoor activities as well as craft and field games. It was a wonderful opportunity for Redstor to be able to sponsor and one which we hope the children enjoyed very much.

In March this year, we have a large number of our staff running the Reading half marathon. We have split into two teams; to say its starting to get competitive in the office is an understatement!

One of our two teams is running for Alzheimer’s Society, the leading support and research charity dedicated to helping people with alzheimers, their carers and their families. Our second team will be running for Daisy’s Dream, which supports children and their families who are going through bereavement throughout Berkshire and the surrounding areas.

If you would like to support us, we are accepting donations through Virgin Giving. To donate to our chosen charities, please follow the link for team 1, The Alzheimers Society, or donate to team 2, Daisy’s Dream.

In addition to the above, Redstor will donate £100 to the charity of choice of anyone who refers a company or school to Redstor that becomes a customer. This scheme was introduced late last year but has already seen a number of donations be made to various national and local charities.

We have developed a deep-rooted relationship with schools through the services we provide to them either directly or through our partners. Redstor’s flagship service to the education market, Redstor Backup for Schools Service (RBUSS), is an affordable, fully automated backup service that requires no manual intervention and boasts military grade encryption. It is the only Capita approved technology for protecting SIMS, FMS and Discover data and protects both admin and curriculum data. The service is currently in use at over 10,000 schools across the UK.

Redstor’s backup for schools service is fully compliant with SFVS, ICO and Data Protection legislation and Redstor is itself, ISO 27001 and 9001 certified. Other services offered by Redstor to schools include file sync and share, safeguarding and endpoint management.

To find out more about our services and how we can help you comply with data protection laws and prevent data leakage, please contact us either by giving us a call on 01189 515 200 or emailing [email protected]
