The year is coming to an end and here at Redstor, we wanted to reflect on some of the highlights of the year and to prepare ourselves for what 2018 may bring. 2017 has seen Redstor grow from strength to strength, further developing our flagship Redstor Pro Service and bringing on new customers, partners and staff; a warm welcome to all.
2017 saw Redstor kick off its first full year of monthly releases, allowing users to access new developments in technology more quickly, ushering in a more dynamic way of testing and improving the developments, thanks to Redstor’s Power Users. While the development team has grown over the last year, there have seen many improvements in the technology and a lot of behind the scenes work. Standout features include the use of InstantData across the technology, allowing users faster restores and a more complete experience using the software.
Redstor’s ground breaking InstantData technology provides you with immediate access to data, while it is retrieved from the cloud behind the scenes. By streaming blocks of data when they are accessed, InstantData mitigates the need to wait for full files to be retrieved in order for users to start working on them.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, July saw the launch of a new website, reflecting our evolution from backup company to a data management specialist. CEO, Paul Evans had the following quote, when the website was released:
‘After 18 months of heavy lifting, improving all our systems and processes, here at Redstor we are pleased to be launching our new website. The last couple of months have been dedicated to producing something world-class and we trust that as you explore this new site, you will continue to benefit from the information shared as we continue to grow. In true Redstor fashion, this website will be constantly improved each week and in time, we want this to be the go to place for our customers to engage with us. Falling in line with our vision, our new website will be the place which will help them manage and secure their data, wherever it is stored, whenever they need it.’
Redstor have hosted and attended a number of fantastic events throughout the year and have had the pleasure of inviting customers and partners to join us on a number of different occasions. These opportunities to network and meet face to face are often fantastic ways for us to gain feedback from our customers and to catch up, usually over a beer.
Redstor’s annual golf day was such an event, seeing over 40 Redstor partners and customers take to the sunny course at Windlesham golf club for a fantastic round of golf. As well as networking, Redstor lead events give us an opportunity to strengthen relationships, meet new people and gain valuable insight into customer requirements. We’re looking forward to next year’s event all ready and to all of the other events over the next 12 months.

Not only hosting events, we had the opportunity to be invited to many events throughout the year, giving us further opportunity to meet with customers new and old, to network and share the developments of the technology. January, as always, saw us attend the BETT Show; A fantastic chance to host education service providers, schools, multi-academy trusts and more. Throughout the year we have attended industry recognised events such as the British Legal Technology Forum (BLTF) and CompTIA’s ChannelCon and EMEAcon events. ChannelCon, taking place in Austin, Texas, was a three-day event focused on Channel strategy and working with managed service providers (MSPs) and gave Redstor a unique opportunity to make strategic alliances, with organisations based in the states. With the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) fast approaching, it was a topic which we spoke about regularly at the events we attended.
Redstor will be looking to make 2018, our biggest and best year ever and we will be kicking it off in style, once again attending the BETT show in London, followed by our first ITWeb Cloud Summit in Johannesburg and then launching new technology developments that will see Archiving integrated into the Backup Pro technology.
