Redstor Online Backup
How It Works.
Redstor Online Backup is an online backup service that allows you to back up and instantly restore all data and files held on your systems. It backs up your data via the internet or dedicated link and stores it securely off-site in multiple datacentres. Backups are automatic; data is compressed, encrypted and securely transferred to Redstor's primary data centre. Data reduction technology in software agents installed on your devices means that only unique blocks of data that have changed since the previous backup are transmitted, reducing impact on valuable bandwidth and increasing the speed of backup and recoverability. Your data is continuously mirrored to our secondary data centre for resilience and peace of mind. You can restore data at any time to the same or alternate location. Each backup session is recorded and daily reports are emailed automatically. If a backup is missed or failed you will know about it.
Security:
Access to state-of-the-art datacentres is restricted and can only be accessed by authorised Redstor personnel. Both facilities have resilient UPS systems, full fire protection, 99.99%+ availability and offer carrier-neutral network connectivity options if required.
Data is encrypted prior to transmission; the levels offered include AES-128, AES-256 or Blowfish 448. An encryption key is entered at installtime and is only known to the end user. The keys are not sent or stored on the backup sever and the data is not visible to Redstor or any 3rd partyother than in its encrypted format.
Emergency Recovery:
A service option exists where data can be copied locally at the Redstor data centre and shipped* on disk to a site of the Customers' choice for direct recovery.
Dedicated Recovery Device:
A dedicated Recovery Device* will be hosted in our secondary data centre which contains all, or Customer specified selection of data. Where an emergency recovery is initiated, the Dedicated Recovery Device will be shipped straight to site for direct recovery.
